Monica Monedero, ACSM, Unanimously Elected to CalGreen's Board of Directors
The fitness and active transportation expert brings a new expertise and passion to the governing body.
SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple Bottom Line, the California Green Academy’s (“CalGreen”) Board of Directors (“Board”) has unanimously elected Monica Monedero, ACSM (“Monedero,” pictured above), to the Board. Monedero has been with CalGreen since the beginning (17 March 2017), serving as a Staff Writer, then as TransportiCA’s Managing Editor of Active Transportation. With her election, Monedero is the second female board member to serve, and the first female board member elected, having served prior, as a CalGreen staff member. “The Board’s unanimous election of Ms. Monedero is a testimony to her distinction and expertise in active transportation and fitness, and her service more than maintains the excellence and continuous inclusion efforts CalGreen supporters expect from our governing leadership,” stated Greg Justice, Chief Sustainability Officer (CEO). Monedero will serve a two-year term as a member of the board, concluding 19 July 2021, then facing re-election every two years, thereafter; CalGreen does not have board member term limits or staggered terms.
