"Climate Action Planning: A Guide to Creating Low-Carbon, Resilient Communities," is TransportiCA's September Book Club Selection

September 2, 2019

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”), and its sustainable transport blog TransportiCA, are proud to announce the Island Press book, Climate Action Planning: A Guide to Creating Low-Carbon, Resilient Communities, by professors Michael R. Boswell, Ph.D., AICP and Adrienne I. Greve, Ph.D., MS, and Tammy L. Seale, MSP, as the September Book Club selection.

Revised from its original edition, Climate Action Planning has become a quintessential book, serving as a call-to-action for climate activists.

“As CalGreen commences our “Year of Clean Energy” campaign, electing Climate Action Planning as the Book Club selection brings attention to the increasingly vital work of local climate action and adaptation–whether you are an elected official, private citizen, or just someone who cares about our planet. CalGreen is highly confident, no matter your age, climate expertise, or how local your efforts may impact, readers will learn significantly from this book, inspiring today’s climate novices in becoming tomorrow’s great climate leaders,” stated Greg Justice, TransportiCA’s founder and Chief Sustainability Officer.

As with every Book Club selection, readers can take part in a contest featuring three questions about the authors’ professional lives, with the contest winner receiving a signed copy of Climate Action Planning.

Founded in 2015, TransportiCA is CalGreen’s flagship program, focusing on the promotion and education of sustainable transport: “Mobility meeting the Triple Bottom Line.” TransportiCA's most popular feature is the monthly Book Club, with every publication featured embodying the Triple Bottom Line’s three elements–social responsibility, financial security / obligation, as well as, ecological stewardship.  For additional information, please email the Book Club.
