California's Mobility TransFormed by Cohen's Leadership

CalGreen thanks the organization’s founder and Executive Director Stuart Cohen, for twenty-two years of unwavering service, improving mobility in the Golden State.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”) wishes Stuart Cohen (“Cohen”)–TransForm founder and Executive Director–all the best in his soon-to-be consulting role, and is profoundly grateful for his leadership in transforming California’s transportation. Beginning 22 March, Cohen will step down from his position as Executive Director, pursuing further commitments with his family, as well as, continue his vital work in the nexus of social justice, housing, and transport, now as a consultant. “While it is saddening to hear of Mr. Cohen’s departure, the incredible transformation of transport in the Bay Area, and Statewide, is tied to his twenty-two years of laser-focused leadership, enduring passion, and deep-seated values, making sure everyone has access to a multimodal and equitable system of mobility. TransForm’s authority in sustainable transportation and inclusive housing will continue many powerful victories for Californians, thanks to Cohen’s vision,” stated Greg Justice, CalGreen’s Chief Sustainability Officer.

TransForm’s Board of Directors have named Ann Cheng–current GreenTRIP Program Director, and Jo Ann Prompongsatorn Farrant–Deputy Director of Organizational Development, as interim Co-Directors, during the search for a new Executive Director. As well, TransForm and the transportation community will be celebrating Cohen’s distinguished contributions on Thursday, 11 April, from 18:00-21:00, at the Green Room, in San Francisco’s Civic Center.
