Distinguished author and editor shares her professional experiences in publishing, what it takes for nonprofits, authors, and climate science to succeed in the industry.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple-Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”), in cooperation with the University of San Francisco’s (“USF”) Masters of Nonprofit Administration (“MNA”) program, is proud to announce Heather Boyer as June’s Sector Series speaker. Boyer (pictured below) is a prolific author and Vice-President / Executive Editor at Island Press, and a 2005 Loeb Fellow at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.

[endif]--The Series brings together the nonprofit sector’s greatest minds, at no charge to attendees–a major tenant of the program, with the goal of providing intelligent, engaging, and transformational conversations. For June, Boyer will discuss the publishing industry and climate science, the increasing presence of nonprofit publishers, and how Island Press has been a publishing leader for over 34 years.

The webinar occurs Thursday, 28 June, from 11:00-12:00 PST / 14:00-15:00 EST, streamed live here. Afterward, one attendee will win Boyer’s newest book, Resilient Cities: Overcoming Fossil Fuel Dependence, co-authored by Drs. Peter Newman and Timothy Beatley.
