CalGreen Launches "Public Comment" Program

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple-Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”) has launched a new “Public Comment” program, centralizing all submissions to state and federal jurisdictions. Mainly through its TransportiCA program, CalGreen puts forward public comment letters to respective governmental and planning bodies, providing insights on transportation and social inclusion and diversity, financial obligations and security, as well as, ecological responsibility and stewardship.

“As a ‘public charity,’ we know we have a responsibility for providing our comments and expertise to these respective governing bodies. Systems thinking requires the consideration of social, economic, and ecological perspectives, and we are dedicated to making sure these issues remain in the transportation policy process,” stated Dillon Abedini, CalGreen’s Chief Governmental Officer.

TransportiCA’s public comment submissions began in July 2016, with its first letter regarding the Draft California Sustainable Freight Action Plan. Just today, TransportiCA submitted a letter regarding Caltrans’ Draft Public Participation Plan, and is drafting a submission for the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s Draft 2018 Business Plan.

More information on the Public Comment program, as well as, submitted letters, can be viewed at: www.calgreenacademy.org/pc, and inquiries can be directed to: tpc@calgreenacademy.org.
