CalGreen and TransportiCA invited as Media Partners to the historic Global Climate Action Summit

Invitation to the landmark Summit - taking place next week in San Francisco - reaffirms CalGreen’s commitment to the Triple-Bottom Line and the Sustainable Development Goals.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple-Bottom Line in business, energy, and transportation, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”), and its sustainable transportation program TransportiCA, proudly announces their reporting at the Global Climate Action Summit (“Summit”) in San Francisco, occurring next week. The Summit represents the State of California and the United Nations’ deep commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (“Goals”), adopted in September 2015, as well as, increasing participation with the global Paris Climate Accord (“Accord”).

The Summit will be attended by world leaders, and is being organized to celebrate the climate action achievements of countries/states, regions, cities, companies, investors, and citizens. It will also serve as a launchpad for deeper, worldwide commitments and accelerated action from states, all working to strengthen the Accord; thereby, significantly accelerating decarbonization of the world’s economy, by and with all global sectors.

“Receiving the invitation from Summit organizers is, by far, the biggest accomplishment of CalGreen and TransportiCA, and we are extremely proud to have been considered a party to the Summit. Since day one, CalGreen and TransportiCA have made advancing sustainability and the Triple-Bottom Line the primary goal of CalGreen’s work, and just recently, the Board of Directors adopted a ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ campaign, extensively integrating every Goal in all of CalGreen’s governance and operations,” stated Greg Justice, CalGreen’s Chief Sustainability Officer (CEO/ED).

Founded in May 2015, TransportiCA is CalGreen’s flagship program, focusing on the education and promotion of sustainable transportation, with the mission of “Mobility meeting the Triple-Bottom Line.” The Summit begins next Thursday, 13 September, and the program is available here. You can view filed Summit reports on TransportiCA, tweets at @TransCAEvents, and videos on YouTube.
