CalGreen / USF Launch "Sector Speakers Series"

New program brings the greatest minds in the nonprofit world, all at no charge to attendees.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple-Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”) has launched a new program, the “Sector Speakers Series.” Bringing together the greatest minds of the nonprofit sector, and at no charge to attendees–a major tenant of the program, the series’ goal is to provide informative, engaging, and transformational conversations to CalGreen supporters.

“The series is an amazing opportunity for CalGreen supporters, nonprofit scholars, and social sector professionals; we have an incredible program being developed, including many first-class speakers in the pipeline,” remarked Anthony Palmere, CalGreen’s Acting Chair.

The series is co-sponsored by the University of San Francisco’s Masters of Nonprofit Administration program–the world’s oldest such program. “The cross-sector relations and sector innovation analysis have been a distinguishing characteristics of the Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA), since its foundation in 1983. While celebrating 35 years in educating competent and effective nonprofit-social sector leaders, we are happy to co-sponsor the Sector Speaker Series, promoting the understanding of a shared value society for a sustainable future,” stated Dr. Marco Tavanti, MNA Program Director, and USF School of Management Professor.

Dr. Chandra Alexandre, MBA, CFRE–Vice-President of Development for the Global Fund for Women and professor of philanthropy–will inaugurate the series, taking place later this month. Dr. Alexandre will speak about the Certified Fundraising Executive exam (“CFRE”), her CFRE preparation and career application, as well as, emerging trends in philanthropy and nonprofit development.
