A native of Wayzata, Minnesota, Megan began her tenure working with children at the age of sixteen, as a babysitter and Pre-K Assistant Teacher. In this capacity, she would peruse her degree in Early Childhood Education, moving on to teach in both Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms, all over Minnesota.
After a quick career change, Megan spent several years as a youth ski instructor on both the East and West coasts, even reaching as far as the powder trails of Canada. While teaching skiing at Lake Tahoe, Smith met and married her husband, Harry.
While stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi, Megan got the news of her first son’s ASD diagnosis. For the past twelve years, she has been navigating the unique and often overwhelming nature of neurodiverse children. With these experiences, Megan saw her calling to start and run a nonprofit, passing on what she had learned, and serves as the founding Chief Executive Officer.
Megan’s vast experience in the special-needs community stretches from professional advocate, to active volunteer, and currently, she homeschools two of her four children. With these humble beginnings, Megan jumped into the nonprofit sector with the vision of her involvement in the special-needs community.
