"Designing Climate Solutions" is January's TransportiCA Book Club Selection
SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”), and its sustainable transportation blog TransportiCA, are proud to announce Designing Climate Solutions: A Policy Guide for Low-Carbon Energy, by Hal Harvey, Robbie Orvis, and Jeffrey Rissman (pictured above), as January’s Book Club selection.
Published in November, Designing Climate Solutions provides the latest policies and research for reducing the nation’s carbon impact, in a manageable, yet thorough publication, for many types of readers - policy makers, students, professionals, and others.
“Designing Climate Solutions is the ideal publication to introduce CalGreen’s efforts celebrating 2019 as the “Year of Clean Energy,” and enhancing California’s landmark energy and sustainability leadership; notably, the Legislature’s passage of Senate Bill 100, requiring 100% in-state renewable energy sources (fossil free) by 2045,” stated Greg Justice, CalGreen’s Founder and Chief Sustainability Officer (CEO/ED).
Founded in May 2015, TransportiCA is CalGreen’s flagship program, focusing on the education and promotion of sustainable transportation: “Mobility meeting the Triple Bottom Line.” TransportiCA's most popular feature is the monthly Book Club, with every publication embodying the elements of sustainable transportation–social responsibility, financial security, and environmental stewardship. The Book Club features a contest about the author’s professional life, with the winner receiving a copy. For more information, please visit the Book Club’s webpage.
