CalGreen Celebrates the One-Year Anniversary of Proterra's World Record 1,102.2 Mile Drive

The electric vehicle record remains in place, unlikely to be overtaken, any time soon.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple-Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”), and its sustainable transportation program TransportiCA, is proud to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Proterra’s world-record setting 1,102.2-mile drive by an electric vehicle, all on a single charge. The record was established by Proterra’s Catalyst E2 battery-electric bus, on Monday, 04 September 2017, at the Navistar Proving Grounds in Indiana.

Since their founding, CalGreen and TransportiCA have consistently supported Proterra’s immense and passionate efforts’ in “greening” transit fleets, providing impactful innovation in the fight against fossil fuel-based transport. TransportiCA also reported when Proterra set a prior battery-electric driving world record, prior to September 2016, announced by Ryan Popple, CEO, at the American Public Transportation Association’s annual meeting in Los Angeles.

Founded in May 2015, TransportiCA is CalGreen’s flagship program, focusing on the education and promotion of sustainable transportation, with the mission of “Mobility meeting the Triple-Bottom Line.”
