CalGreen's Board of Directors Elects new Members, Welcomes new Executive

July 25, 2017

Robert S. Brodie elected Board member and Dillon Abedini appointed Chief Governmental Officer.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems-thinking and the Triple-Bottom Line, the California Green Academy’s Board of Directors has elected Robert S. Brodie to serve on the Board, and Dillon Abedini has been appointed as CalGreen’s first Chief Governmental Officer (CGO).

Brodie currently serves CalGreen as co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, overseeing CalGreen’s information technology (IT) infrastructure, and developing an annual “State of IT” report.  Abedini currently serves as a Data Analyst, providing demographic and statistical data for corporations seeking further organizational development, and has a significant background and education in government and public policy.  The CGO is responsible for all intergovernmental relations for the Board of Directors and CalGreen, and oversees legislative and regulatory involvement with respect to CalGreen’s mission.

“Having worked with Dillon, and knowing his commitments to diversity, social equity and representation, I am confident he will be an amazing ambassador for CalGreen, building permanent bridges between our organization and respective governmental bodies, all in the critical pursuit of implementing CalGreen’s important mission,” stated Miguel Del Mundo, Chair of CalGreen’s Board of Directors.

Brodie was elected by fellow Board members at the Board’s inaugural meeting on Saturday, 22 July, and Abedini was appointed by Greg Justice, CalGreen’s Chief Sustainability Officer (CEO/ED), following Saturday’s Board meeting.  Brodie immediately begins a two-year Board term, and Abedini will serve CalGreen at the pleasure of executive management, and in accordance with organizational needs.
