Effenus Henderson, International Diversity Expert, is October's "Sector Speaker Series&quot

Henderson will share his four decades of international diversity practices and expertise, providing professional development opportunities for nonprofit sector application.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”), through its “Nonprofit Studies” program, is proud to announce Effenus Henderson as October’s presenter for the Sector Speaker Series.

With over 40 years of experience in a variety of human resources roles and responsibilities, Henderson is Founder and President / CEO of HenderWorks, Inc., and Co-Director of the Institute for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion. Until his retirement in December 2013, Henderson served as Chief Diversity Officer for Weyerhaeuser Company (Federal Way, WA), advising the CEO and senior management team on diversity, inclusion, and affirmative-action related matters. In addition to these roles, Henderson has also served as an international advisor, consulting the United Nations General Assembly, many departments of the U.S. federal government, as well as, global cultural and professional associations.

Henderson’s presentation–“Welcoming Nonprofit Sector Diversity”–takes place Tuesday, 30 October, from 16:00-17:00 PST, with registration here. Recordings will be posted online, immediately after.

Founded in August 2018, CalGreen's Nonprofit Studies program (“program”) is dedicated to third-sector education, making sure the learning of nonprofit governance, leadership, management, and administration is freely available, to all who would benefit from such. The program contains the latest scholarship for undergraduate and graduate levels, integrated with cross-sectoral curriculum, and utilizes standards from the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council and Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.
